I know this has been discussed some years ago, but I’m looking for clarification before sending my speedo for repair/ renovation, (
thanks mikeyboy), so the mph speedo I have is marked w1148, the kph speedo fitted to my bike, a 1993 gs pd, in standard trim, shows w715. According to snowbum ( r.i.p) the final drive ratio is 1.144, so does that equate to w1144?, if so do I need a different ratio drive in my mph speedo?. I also have an older mph speedo taken from a late 80’s 100 gs with green numerals and a centre fixing, but that is marked up w1186!! .
Or will the gear drive from my kph speedo be correct if fitted to the mph speedo?? So confusing, but I thought I would ask as I know that as soon as Peter Bond gets my speedo he will be asking me.
