Somewhere or other in my office
When I was young and foolinsh, I used to read the Motorcycle Screws.
Many years ago they did tests of all the Helmets available in the UK, using all the UK & EU tests. Results were similar to thoes listed in this report.
They also tested helmets which had been involved in fatal & major accidents. These supposedly "Do Not Use Again" helmets all also passed with flying colours.
I kept the article & still have it somewhere.
Screws pulled the plug on the story, apparently, when helmet makers threatened to withdraw advertising.
The only comment I might make is that expensive helmets are usually lighter, and in the event of violent rotational impacts, survival is more likely. I do not believe there is such a test.
Having said that, I war a cheapie!
