Latest R1300GS pics (good source)

Not that dissimilar to current model but that's what you expect of such design evolution. Hope they stick with the sleeker panniers rather than those large alloy tubs.

Max torque at 6,500 revs.. is that quite high or am I just out of touch with the boxer engine's development?

This bike has big changes.....cast aluminium frame, ride height automatically lowering at low speed/stop, Sky Sport free for one year. Its narrower and, apparently, has not gained to much weight. Yet to see if it gets the RT screen and sat nav.

I heard from someone in the trade that it looks highly unlikely to be launched in 2023. Just not ready for market. One could argue that it won’t be ready for market until a year after the launch anyway! :)

Either a tall rider or low seat. Rider looks like he needs to stretch his legs....looks very cramped!

No doubt BMW will be on the lookout for Beta testers to give them their old (worthless) r1250 models and a large wad of cash and then let them do the final development work ( been there ,done that and never again will I buy a newly released model).

Cue shouts of from the died in the wool BMW fans of " but they have a very good warranty , much better than KTM "

think I'll wait for the 5.7L star motor.... cos that'll be a head turner.... !

If I do decide to go for a 1300GS it will be at least 3 years after launch when all of the early adopters will have identified the problems and had them sorted. I didn't go for an LC shift cam until 4 years after it came onto the market.

Mind you, barring myopic young lady drivers on roundabouts I'm hoping to keep my current GSA for ten years, if I live that long, by then I'll be 78 so might be ready for a lighter bike.
