Latest Updates any Problems?

Anyone done the latest map updates on a 660 yet. Just checking to see if any thing I should watch for. Not updated since 2013 as was a nightmare took a week to sort out and get things loaded and working correctly.

Hi Ted I updated my Nav IV without any problems, put the whole of Europe map on the 8gb card that's in the unit. All takes much less time than it used to!

Worked for me yesterday Ted. I only use mapupdater though, not Garmin Express. I'm sure Express is ok too, but I know that mapupdater works every time for me. Takes about 3 hours on my not-high-speed BB connection. I know some people do experience issues updating their maps, but to be fair to Garmin I find it a simple process and I've had a Z660 since it first came out.

FWIW I did have one minor delay this time around which I haven't seen before, but I wouldn't call it a real problem as I fixed it in seconds.

For quite a while now the map files have had to go to the unit's SD card as the main unit doesn't have enough storage due to map files getting larger and larger. On this particular occasion all of the possible map areas in the installation selection pane in mapupdater were highlighted in red text with a message that the unit doesn't have enough storage and I couldn't get past that. I backed out of the installation, deleted the Garmin folder on the SD card and tried again and voila, full European maps easily installed.

Well read all the info and followed all the links but fell for it again. Bought a new map down load and 3 hours later still cant get to sign in or down load the maps.
Logged in signed in no problem, paid for down load, followed the email link and now it wont accept my log in details and keep getting a "problem with server" message.
Garmin really is a crock of shit.

Mine is 4 years old now and have decided just to leave the original maps on and not do any updates , last one I did when the unit was new took 36 hours

Mine took 3 hours with GE. The last update took 9 hours. Same BB speed for both.

No idea, but it always seems to slow down when I visit the websites my wife says I'm not allowed to look at!

Did mine Saturday through the Garmin website. Took just over 3 hours (but I live out in the countryside a long way from the exchange). Hadn't updated it since I bought my 660 back in 2010! Works just fine.
