Time for another lawrence of Arabia ride out for the day. Looking at easter sunday 24th april (i'm flexible on any day over easter and will go with the majority) or sunday may 1st. Will decide on the majority choice. :thumb

Meet at my place, or a location on route for those already down that way.

As usual, Ride down to Dorset stop at Milton Abbas ( tea & cakes, if the shop is still open), clouds hill Lawrence of Arabia cottage ( it's a national trust property so bring your card if you have one) , the site where he crashed, the graveyard where he's buried, a small meander along a legal route through Morton forest ( no problem two up with tourences) and across a ford (optional, there is a dry route), or the other road route for lunch in the "school cafe" morton, then more country lanes, Corfe castle and on a ferry crossing on the swanage/poole ferry, ice cream and sticky buns and back home.

Remember, morton ford is entirely optional and for entertainemnt purposes - there is a road route option that takes 5 minutes longer.

Hello Steptoe,

I'm really interested in this, the history, the places and the Brough, sadly I'm working that particular Fri 22, Sat 23 & Sun 24th and the following weekend is Nomad Biker - Kent Camp Fun - I'm off on the Wed 20 & Thu 21st and off again on Mon 25 & Tues 26th.

Neil

I am sure Mr Cullis will want to come, if only to do a full wash of his bike in the ford as he did last time :augie

If you're going to ride down to Morton Ford, it's very muddy at the moment (Saturday) and you may struggle with Tourances, the ford is also quite high at the moment with the recent rain. Wish I was about to be able to join you but I'm going away that weekend.

PS There is also quite a bit about Lawrence in The Tank Museum too, with a copy of his Brough.:thumb

Dammmmmmmmmm can not make this one as we are away. Really fancy doing this run later in the year, can someone map a route on their 660 if they go please.

combination

Hi Neil, i dont know if this is of any use, but on the saturday of the wedding weekend, there is between 20 and 40 of us at the camp,i'm sure they would be happy to pitch in and join you.
I dont know exact numbers because there are a few pay as you goers.
Joe C is the routemaster, and tbh i forget where he said they were off to.
I will be staying behind to help the chef prep the evening meal, but i wonder if a combo could be hatched.
Just a thought, and could be abit of fun, they need to be back home for around 7pm ,thats when dinner is served, and the partying starts.
Yourself and the fellow riders from your ride are more than welcome to come back to camp (near sevenoaks)and partake in tea and eccles cakes.(or a beer).Or if they want a 3 course evening meal with us lot that can be arranged too.Just bring cutlery mugs and plates.
Anyhow offers there, Atb Paul.
