LC Akrapovic ?

Akrapovic turned up this morning. Interesting thing is the bolt that allows you to remove the db killer has a spot weld on it. Is that normal, or is that to stop you removing the baffles?

Got mine from the same place as jp842, so wondering if this is German legislation. Also why does it have Akrapovic HP on the side?

Looks the dogs though :D

You are privileged, you have the special edition HP (High Performance) badged version

My baffle was also spot welded, it will break off easily when you undo the nut.

That is an eyeful of a motorcycle :thumb

Thanks :thumb

Did you have to pay import duty? How was it packaged please?
cheers,
Craig

Nope, price was as advertised with packaging. Postage was a bit of a faff, got to the UK ok, then they handed it over to Royal Mail. No tracking just keep your fingers crossed once it got to the UK. But all was good.

I have one on mine too.

I agree with Yonkyo - looks WAY better than that huge lump of chrome and sounds WAY better too. No change at all to performance though.

I put the baffle back in mine - riding it all day without it made my head hurt!

And Makes horses bolt when you start it up...

Just a little note, after fitting the Akraprovic to my 2014 RT it returned a fault in the ECM showing the Exhaust Flap seized, I returned the bike to the dealer and they told me it needed a complete new front section of the exhaust as the exhaust valve is now welded to the front pipe, it was still under warranty so I told them to go ahead and order it to be fitted after I came back from Spain.

Now doing what I do, I thought I will get the bike home and check it out as I did not want the valve sticking closed while I was on my hols, so I removed the Akra and striped the valve top and removed the cables checking both the valve to be free and the stepper motor to be going to the stop in both directions, all was fine !!? so why did the system flag this fault code, well after weeks of resetting the system with the GS-911 and trying all manor of things it turns out there was no fault with the motor or the flap, by refitting the original exhaust box the fault was not flaged again until I put the Akra back on.

Now there maybe some of you out there that have noticed with the Akra on the exhaust some times pops back on the overrun (very nice ) but if the valve is closing as it pops back it stalls the control motor, the ECM then thinks the motor is stuck or the flap is seized and it flags the fault (Exhaust Flap Seized) so there you go.

Strange indeed. I did 12000 miles with the Akra on my 2014 RTLC, with absolutely no problems at all and no error codes.

Have the same Akra on my new 2016 RT and also with no issues after 2000 miles

The Akra is a dealer fitted option, so wouldn't expect it to have any issues, if they sell it. Mine has been on for a 1000 miles, fingers crossed, no issues or codes
