So you’ve waited months for your new Lone Rider motocase to arrive for your 1200/1250 GS only to discover that when it’s fitted to your GS there is no room for the pillion to sit comfortably!!! LR say it’s because the GS rack is plastic and they designed the plate so the box sits more inboard. Solution is cut off the backrest support or………buy a GSA rack (and another adapter plate!). In the end I bit the bullet and bought the GSA rack. The box now sits in the correct place with loads of room for the pillion and looks a lot better than on the GS as it sits flatter rather than pitched at an angle.

But I’ve now bought a 1300!!

Rack and plate are both mint, yours for £120 posted. Plate will be in original box with all the correct fittings and a new lock with all the wafers and springs for you to code to your key

Could you post a photo please?

The Mrs & I both like the look of the LoneRider soft luggage but my concern is she will have no space on my standard GS vario mounts. Does this GSA "scaffolding" fit on a GS Rallye?

Will it fit? Yes. Will it give you more room for a pillion? Yes, the rack sits lower and further back than a standard GS. But this is a solution for the LR motocase top box, not the pannier bags. Unless of course you mean putting a LR soft bag on the rack in which case this setup with a LR rack plate will be a lot better than the standard GS rear rack.
