LC test ride

Well fitted the Akra and personally I like the look :P

Did a 50 mile run and sounds good even with the baffles in.

When got back got my Dremil out and removed the baffles :D

Thing is they are not really baffles as such but inserts to reduce the diameter of the outlets - sounds a bit more throaty without them but still not too loud :augie

value

Beowulf for me ~ low cost, suits look of bike, great sound with baffle in, outrageous with baffle out.

Yes Beowulf is availabe for GS LC. I could post photos no problem from mobile before site upgrade, now I do not see how to. Any advice out there. Incoming take cover!

Eek! What did you Dremel? The baffles are held in by a hex headed screw with a tiny spot weld. You just break the weld by unscrewing it.

If you have dremelled the screw head off how will you replace it?

Tinkering owners syndrome:augie

If that's the case, he'll have to drill the thread out now:blast

Anyone know if you can get a decat and still fit original silencer?

If the akro and remus cans fit the stock headers and the same cans fit the akro-remus headers. Than yes your stock can will fit either akro-remus decat headers, you lose the exhaust valve tho.

Just used the Dremel to weaken the spot weld before undoing the screws - danger if you do not is that you round off the hex headed screw before the spot weld breaks ;)
