I've ordered the bike - now waiting for delivery. Just one thing the dealer couldn't answer.
There seems to be two types of LCD display on the info centre -
one is made up of the more common 7 segment 'digital watch' type format:

and the other I've seen is the more sexy dot-matrix type display with rounded figures and icons:

I've ordered the 'computer' option on the bike thinking that I would get the dot-matrix display but the bike I took out on a test ride had the computer and the LCD was the 7 segmented display.
The dealer seemed confused when I asked him about the type of display - even when I showed him in the brochure - and so it looks as if I'm getting the 7 segmemted display.
Does anyone know what the difference between the two displays is?

Thanks

Hi Dave,

The display was changed from the dot matrix type to the "digital watch" format during the 2007 Model Year (I'm sure someone will be able to be more specific).

The olde, dot matrix type suffered from poor contrats when hot, often accompanied by black stripes (as with mine) making the thing almost unreadable.

The new type "digital watch" display does not have the contrast problems, and I believe that the software was also changed to incorporate a "miles/km to reserve function" selectable via the trip button, rather than only being displayed when on reserve as with the previous type.

To summarise: if you're buying a new bike, it will have the "digital watch" display.
