Just booked for France/Spain trip in early May with them, any advice on costs of food, and ale on board? Whats the ship like? Strapping bikes advice? Any entertainment?
Anyone travelling down at same time (we are ending up in Nerja after 3 ish days)

What was the cost and the date ? As I will be looking to book crossing early part of may if not very end of april for myself and two others but not sure if to cross into spain, So reading all post to get as much info before booking. And cost.:beerjug: :thumb

I have been a couple of times. Its absolutely fine but fairly basic and costs for drinks/food etc are a little higher because the fares are so cheap.

The boat leaves very late so you should have plenty of time to source food before entering the port. Food is pricey on board - £7 for fish & chips IIRC. No idea about the cost of booze as I wanted to have a clear head for the drive down to Bad Wurttemburg.

Other threads have said that bikes are secured very well.

Minimal entertainment on board. Good thing really - I only wanted to sleep. On the daytime return journey make sure you sit away from the kids play area at the pointy end.

Places to eat in Portsmouth:
there's a Travelodge & McPub just off the roundabout at the port entrance

For a wider selection of food head for Port Solent. You'll find everything from a Wetherspoons, Indian, Chinese to gastro pubs. The URL points to a cinema but it's all in the complex http://maps.yell.com/clients/browse...25399&ooascrambleSeed=6978417&slscrambleSeed=
There's a Tesco with petrol on the A27 close by.

I live in Southsea (or Little Chelsea as I like to call it) down near the coast in Portsmout. I can see the big ferries passing the houses opposite. Anyway, if you want to know where to stay if you're coming down beforehand, where to eat, etc blah blah just PM me.

Top Tip
If like me you are a tight git and don’t have a cabin and you have camping gear on the bike take your sleeping bags on with you then get right to the front of the seating area where there is plenty of room to lie down then after about an hour on the night crossing the lights get dimmed its in with the ear plugs and a good nights sleep is had by all :thumb2
Take your own food on with you cheaper and a lot better
Have a good trip :bounce1 :bounce1

Thanks for all your replies. We will hopefully be around Bordeaux at the end of day one, Madrid ish on day two, costa on day three but not worried if it takes longer with more stops.
Any secure hotel suggestions (have used Ibis and Campanile before)?
Any "must see,s" on the way?
Also will need somewhere to stay not too far from ferry termminal on our return.
