Le périphérique - now has a 50km/h speed limit

In my experience you'd be lucky to get up to that speed in any case.

Still, better than that hateful road around Antwerp I suppose.
i thought that was a minimum speed limit ?
i love it , it's like stepping back in time , busier the better , up to a point.
50 kph , i cannot see the French drivers putting up with that for long.

About 20 years ago I had a memorable run around that at 3am on my GS ... loads of other bikers and kids driving slammed MaxPower cars like they were stolen ... many probably were.

It really was like a scene from Mad Max, I absolutely loved it (y)

Who knew?

Will it make any difference?

Given that the vast majority of correspondents to these pages, swear that they would never enter any city, it’ll not make any difference at all to them.

At least another 15%, will need to be told how to get there, where they can find safe parking and scran.

They’re not happy and it seems to be that the retention of a dedicated shared vehicle lane, created for the olympics is going to be retained, causing issues for filtering.

Oh wow:

Insurance figures on the accident in Paris reveal that collisions with 2RM on the ring road have increased tenfold following the introduction of the Olympic lanes.
Motorcyclists no longer know where to ride, motorists are lost, the speed difference between the congested lanes (at 10 km/h) and the reserved lane where vehicles bombard at 70 km/h is frightening.

They could filter between the two slow lanes on the right :D

But apart from that, I can see their point to be fair.

Go slow, no filtering.

As if I needed yet another reason to avoid going anywhere near Paris.
