Lead to connect navigator v to laptop

Hi All, is there a special usb lead required to connect my garmin navigator V to my laptop so I can transfer files etc?

I’ve only ever had success using a genuine Garmin USB lead, even then it’s a struggle to connect.

I've used a couple of different ones on my Zumo 390, some branded such as Garmin & GoPro and some not branded.

Well I've ordered a garmin micro USB lead, so let's see what happens tomorrow when it arrives! Thanks
