leaded or unleaded

I'm currently looking for a "winter project".

I'm finding it difficult to determine when the R80/R100 became compatable with unleaded fuel.

I know the K series was bikes built after October 1985.

I've seen a couple of bikes and spoken several owners of bikes for sale but when you ask them if it's been converted to run on unleaded they just shrug their shoulders.

All K's are unleaded.

Vast majority of airheads 1985 and after are unleaded. If an owner shrugs his shoulders...then assume it is leaded only

If it's pre unleaded valve seats,use a shot of Castrol Valvemaster in every other tank full.
