Got a new System 6 a few weeks back, today was first time I got caught out in the rain.

Rain trickled down inside the visor, very annoying. Then as the inside of the visor got wet, it starts to mist up.

Anyone else have this problem? any cures?

dealers are suposed to be able to adjust them. Must say not a great helmet. JJH

Taking it you know how to 'click' close the visor tight?

I had a problem with the pinlock visor insert steaming up. The dealer changed the visor and problem now solved. Evidently not an uncommon issue.

Been very happy with it otherwise and over a year in with it.

I bought one earlier this year. For some reason it actually did not rain for a month, but the first time I wore it in rain the water came down between the visor and shell like a river. I checked and found that the visor was not even contacting the black wiper on the helmet. Took it to the dealer who checked it, notified BMW, and they supplied a new helmet. New visor does not leak and also shuts properly. I think there must have been a visor modification.
Hope this helps.

are they made by schuberth? they have the same problem mine does leaky visor for the money i think they are crap

System 6

Bought a System6 14m ago - now on helmet number 4, vents falling off x 1, sun visor system breaking + sun visors rubbing against helmet & getting scratched x 2. Helmet 1 did leak. Present helmet (touch hairy wood) is ok.
All helmets were changed under warranty by my local dealership no problem and they have stated they will go straight to motorrad if my present helmet also goes T**s up. A big thumbs up to Clarks Warranty,Parts and Service managers:clap
However, although my present helmet is ok, it's a thumbs down for the System 6.
NB. An oppo of mine has recently bought a System 6. (NO - he never spoke to me first) - he is on helmet number 2 within 2 months!! - Leaking visor was certainly a problem.

I have to have a chuckle at all this.....:rob

Same problem

I've had mine for 1 month and it did it last night (leaked inside of the visor) - will be taking it back to dealer on Friday

Just search this site for examples of Schuberth C3 rider experiences with regard the "quality" product, and Schuberth's apparent disinterest in the plight of its customers....:augie

Based on my C3 experience, never would I buy their products again!

Quite a lot of posts I've seen say how poor BMW system helmets and Scuberth C3's are - that's why I bought a Shoei Multitec, and am happy with it.

Ok, it has not got a drop down visor but in the summer I live with the light tinted one as I hardly get caught in the the dark.

I nearly bought one until I heard about the problems, mind you that's the same with the 1200's :augie

Back in the 80's and 90's, BMW used to stand for quality products, now they seem not to be bothered. :nenau

I purchased a Sys 6 as soon as they went on sell. No issues yet. But it looks like the quality control is going down, the more they produce:nenau.

I love my system 6.

Had the visor mechanism break on one side which was replaced under warranty. They changed the mechanism middle of last year so they upgraded mine when they replaced it. Before that I used to have to close the visor by pulling down from the top, now it just 'snicks' into place with a gentle pull from either of the side tabs.

Had the pinlock replaced as it was misting up between the insert and the visor, so couldn't be cleared when it did. Apparently you can adjust the pinlock to stop this.

Despite the issues I've had, it's a great helmet: Quiet and comfortable. I absolutely love the sun visor and couldn't imagine buying another helmet without one. Perfect for those winter days when the sun comes out suddenly, or riding into a tunnel in the summer.

It's not perfect but it's better, for me at least, than anything else I've tried on. YMMV.

I just wish Arai would make a flip front.

I'm with Mr MagicFingers on this. System 6 by far the best helmet I've had. Do get a slight leak though after prolonged rain.

Every generation says the same about the products 10-20 years earlier. :)

I remember the slating the first 1100 oilheads got and the BMs in the early 80s and....... (quality gone to pot, too complicated, etc etc).....

took my Sys 6 back today and the kind people just changed it straight away no questions asked.

I use to wear one for work, nasty fitting helmet, leaked, visor wouldnt stay up and gave me a severe headache every time I wore it. The system 5 was much better just too bulky. The only good thing was the black sun visor this was excellent. Ended up swapping for a shoei much better just wish it had the sun visor
