Leaky brake tit

When I squeeze my rear brake tit, not sure what you call it but the rubber thing on the rear brake, but when i squeeze it brake fluid squirts out, is that normal? please excuse the crap photo

if it is def brake fluid then no its not normal,master cyl seal gone.make sure its not dirty water,taste it:D you will know what your dealing with then:thumb2

+1 should be no fluid inside the dust cover if there is then the seals are goosed.

Thanks fellas, I'll have a look today although i assume as it's ABS that there's not much I can do and if the master cylinder seal it'll have to go into bmw?
 
The seals have gone (brake fluid should stay in the system, it is not a lubricant).

You will need a seal kit (if BMW sell such a thing) otherwise it will be a new cylinder.

Should be pretty easy to replace, the issue you will have is bleeding the brakes. There is a rear resorvoir (?) but if you have ABS there is a connection to the ABS unit as well. There is plenty written about how to bleed them.

If you are not confident bleeding the brakes then take it in to get fixed.
