Hi all, Just took delivery of a nice 2008 twin with only 8,000 miles on the clock. There is a slight weep of oil from the rocker cover gasket on the left side. It is unlikely that the valve clearances have been checked and gasket replaced at this mileage so this is probably the original. Are these prone to leaks?

Yes i think this is a known issue and the gasket should be fitted using a sealant. It will probably get worse if not sorted.
When I got My 650 at 900 miles it was already leaking. Only on one side. Good luck.

Following some excellent advice from this forum I used some RTV sealant on the two half moon areas on the left hand side of the valve cover.
So far so good 🤞

Yes, that is exactly where it's leaking. Around the half moons.
