2003 1150 with only 11,000 kms. on her (only put on the road in May '04).
Last rode it about a month ago, it's still winter over here you know but last weekend was nice so I thinks time for a blast. Goes out to the bike turns over fine but won't start no way no how.
Checked for sparks, that was fine.
Checked for fuel, lots in the tank. Pull out injectors and try to start it and doesn't seem to be much action there. I found lots of gas (sorry petrol) on the back side of the injectors but next to nothing coming out the front side. So now I'm stumped I figure either electrical, ie. the computer not triggering them or a lack of pressure to them. I obviously cannot check the computer and the fuel pump sounds normal so out of desperation I changed the fuel line quick dissconnects as I had a couple of spares. Still wouldn't start.
So no riding this weekend, bummer bimmer.
Get her hauled into the dealer and just heard back from them today. The bike was ready to be picked up. So what was it I ask? They found that the fuel pressure was low. Seems that the hose clamps on the fuel filter were loose. So they replaced them and Bobs yer uncle.
One of the first jobs I did when I bought the bike was change all the f**king useless BMW crimp type hose clamps on all the outside fuel lines but I never went inside the tank to change those ones too.
Beware, you have been warned. It sure surprised me.
