Can anyone give me advice on what to use to treat my well worn in Hein Gerrick boots and trousers. The leathers very dry and offers no water resistance anymore.

Someone suggested somthing called Saddle Soap.

Cheers.

Conolley Hide Food.

Do not use saddle soap on what are classed as 'fine' type leathers. It is abrasive and has the wrong ph balance not to mention of course saddle soap is a leather cleaner not specifically a conditioning treatment.

What about nikwax? They do a tin specifically for boots and you rub it in by hand (melts the wax better than a cloth) and waterproofs the most basic of boots. Makes them nice and supple too.

Renapur - the stuff they power-sell at all the bike shows. Does an excellent job

100% agree

Ditto, been using it for years & never seen anything else that comes close.

Many thanks for your suggestions.

I had a thought and rang my old man up. He's been hill walking for years, so i asked what he used on his boots.

He's just dropped of some stuff he swears by called................wait for it................ Renapur. It's well known in the hill walking world as well as biking aparently.

It says its made from natural ingredients including beeswax which sounds good. I'm off to give it a try.

Thanks to all again.

Another Germolene fan

Because of this comment I felt I had to search “hard” and “wide” for the S&M section in this forum, but alas it was to no avail.

Perhaps it just whipped it’s self into a frenzy and disappeared up its own innuendo.

But then again what do I know?

Cheers.

It's hidden until you have completed the initiation ceremony.

We'd punish NeilF for disclosing that it exists except he would enjoy it too much.
