I previously used some wide angle LED lamps much less light (lumens) than these below but dazzling to other road users and they filled with water so pretty crap TBH.
I have these wired with main beam (narrow beam angle). They are well built but the chromed bezel is aluminium underneath so the plating will peel. Fundamentally they are good so I just painted the bezels. Both lamps and halo rings are wired from the auxiliary headlight switch but a relay triggered by main beam controls the spots. You will need some spacers on the lamp covers to make space for the halos but they work well for minimal money.
Mine have a relay because I wanted more light at main beam and a direct connection would upset the canbus. The only other switch is the OEM auxiliary headlights switch to power the halos and the spots.
It's what I use with 35W halogen bulbs and folk comment how noticeable they are but not dazzling. It does depend on the angle though, they are fog lights & have a very flat pattern. Drop them a few degrees and the effect is noticeably less.
