Hi All

I had one of my LED fog lights pack in nothing major and I expect it's a faulty unit I called in to my local dealer and one is on order, and will be fixed on ASAP So no hardship and as usual good friendly service at NOG

Anyone else had issues with their lights ?

Yes, my left one (as sitting on the bike) stopped working.

Took it in two weeks ago, the lamp is fine but the dealer has had several problems with the left lamp wiring failing.

It's gone off to BMW technical for a solution - 2 weeks ago - no news yet

Fortunately no fog

Hi
Yes mine is the same L/H side NOG have ordered a new light unit, you say it's the wiring is that in the unit or the wiring on the bike
Cheers Terry

Hi Terry

They are not sure where the fault lies - hence the request to BMW tech .

The lamp itself wasn't faulty though as they could make it light by bypassing the wiring and powering it directly

Hi All
Had the new light fitted on the left side and all fine, so thought no problem then just the unit, but now one week later it's packed up again only the left side.
So back in it goes not a major problem to take it in but it is an inconvenience all the same.

So I assume it's the wiring or the switch

Hi Terry

Still waiting to hear of the fix for this.

Swapping the lamp for a new one doesn't fix it.

Interestingly (?) it is an intermittent fault as my left one will occasionally illuminate when it feels like it.

Is this a sign?

Mine is exactly the same, not sure if it's a coincidence but all was good until I washed it.

Brilliant its amazing what people develop I must rush out and buy some, erm on second thoughts its an adventure bike and I shall deffinately be riding it in some rain. so I think it will have to be a dealer fix lol

Its not the lights its the connectors, somewhere on the wiring harness
I had the led on my old airhead and washed the bike with the jet washer never a problem.
Even though I wired them myself.!
On the new bike every time its washed the l/h fails and sometimes the right as well.Leave it overnight and there working again.

And how much would these lights be ?------------ don't work properly in the rain !---------that's mad!-

Sorry MickTheSaw that's not always the case. They don't always work in the morning !

Bike booked in for 4th July they are keeping it for the whole day so they can do a full test on it, drop it off day before and have a loan bike booked.
Hope it's the new 1000 street bike fancy a blast on that. Also hopefully sort out the lights too, it's not the fact it's gone wrong I don't want the hassle of having to keep going back.

Had new light fitted, all good for a week then the same one stopped working again. This time the bike was booked in for the day for a thorough check over, again not a major issue but turned out to be corrosion to one of the electrical contacts in the wiring, but as usual great service from the boys at NOG.

I had a R 1200 R loan bike while mine was in, boy am I glad to have mine back the old air / oil cooled is nice but for those who think there is not a lot of difference are way off the mark having the old style for the day really showed how far forwards the new wc engine has come.

Terry

Pretty crap service really. There was probably nothing wrong with the original light as issue was corrosion in connector. They failed to do basic fault finding and checking of wiring. They incorrectly fitted a new light. They messed you around with 2 trips for a trivial issue. Why do you think that is good service?

Exactly

They should be ashamed by their lazy attitude to fixing it initially

Putting it like that you are quite right but replacing the light was a first thought who would expect corrosion on a new bike, and to be fair that did work for a week the problem was the opposite end of the cable, So will make sure that's got plenty of Gt85 or similar in future.

The main thing for me is it is sorted (fingers crossed) yes in this case NOG made a mistake but we are all human and in fairness they are very pleasant to deal with so I forgive them.
