LED Fog lights 2014

Yes. You probably know what it is but are too afraid to demand it of your dealer.

Enough is enough. Get a competent auto electrician to rewire the fekkin lights.

You know what Windychuffer you are absolutely right, if they can't fix it then pay an auto electrician to sort it and claim back the cost, I would but then if I still had a problem I bet BMW would say it was the auto electricians fault then and void the warranty
Unfortunately they have us by the short and curlleys
Too be honest I'm now at a loss to what to do as far as I know that makes 3 of us on here so far.

The only element of the warranty that may be invalidated would be the fog light wiring loom. Which would be bespoke so no matter.

Mine has fixed itself :nenau failed for 3 days in Austria, then intermittent on return trip, then slight delay firing up compared to the right one, now completely ok for last 10 days :nenau

A self fixing bike..... Love it :D

Yes mine has done that, then it will fail again and again, so annoying

Been back to NOG and the PUMA report is back. It goes in tomorrow for a new wiring Harness.
Hopefully that's the end of it.

Hi I've had a new wiring harness. Alas it didn't fix it.

Well it did for a week

Well it's had yet another new fog light and now new wiring harness fitted, the old one was corroded pretty bad at the electrical terminals. The old wiring plus the lamp have been sent back to Germany.
I am amazed how corroded the connectors were considering every time I was it it gets blown dry and then sprayed with GT85
Oh well let's hope this is it now fixed.

Out of interest... Does the throw of the spot slights help to illuminate any more road? be it low down or mid range can you let me know.?

Yes they are brilliant, that's why it's more annoying not being able to use them, I work shifts so end up riding at night a lot. Fingers crossed all good now.
They illuminate a lot of the side of the road as well as immediately in front obviously the headlight does most of the forward light, I have the LED head light too so must say it is a major leap forwards compared to the standard lights, I had standard on my 2013

They are not spot lights, the lens are configured to give a fog light pattern. They a wide beam pattern with a sharp, flat cutoff on top, so they light up the side edges of the dipped beam. You can see the kerb sides better. Ideally they should be mounted lower down for this type of pattern, the idea being they light up under the fog and are less likely to glare back. For some reason on the GS they are just below the headlight.

I have the GSA so they are fitted low,

I've had a set BMW LEDs for a couple of years now, with no problems at all.
They were fitted to my previous two GSA's, and they now adorn my RT.

They are positioned much lower on the RT (but not as low as the K1600) and they have a lovely spread of light.

Yep you guessed it a week of rain / damp weather and now the L/H light has packed in again same fitting arrangement on the right but why is it only the left get damp corrodes and fails
Bloody nightmare that's 6 or 7 visits 3 new lamps and 1 new wiring harness nothing has lasted more than a month.

So back in it will go again Terry

Maybe connectors are suffering from OCD cleaning and excessive heat from these stupid bike dryers?

Maybe the bike is Adventure proof but foxed by OCD cleaners?

Maybe my bike is fine simply because I rarely clean it?

Does GT85 (OCD Edition) eat connector seals?

What after a month I don't think so, also it's only been washed twice since the fix the blower I have is cold air apart from that all the other connectors are fine.
Are you called Windychuffer because you talk out of your backside
