Has anybody fitted slim LED indicators to the back of an 1150 GSA?

My aftermarket exhaust keeps melting my rear indicator but a slimline indicator would clear the hot gasses and last a bit longer :blast

I got some shorter stems from Metal mule and used the original indecators .... :)

Don't know about led one's at the rear , but i do like those twin rear lamps from TT .........

I’ve fitted a laser hot cam full exhaust system to my 1150 today. Took it for a test ride to a local tossers house only to find that my rear indicator had completely metled. No problem I thought – I had a set of metal mule shorter indicator stalks at home along with a spare indicator body. Just fitted the shortened stalks and been out for a mile test ride and the shorter indicator is starting to melt again. Bugger :(

Anyone got any ideas? I’m not going to lose the new exhaust – it’s too nice, loud and fast

If it's that bad that it melts the indicator in one ride then you need a new link pipe and bracket to alter the angle of the exhaust. :eek

Mine takes a year to melt just the bottom quarter of an indicator so the stubby solution should fix it :P

It’s a full system Howard – complete with headers and all. Big increase in power and sound but no option to adjust it whatsoever. Been searching on here and I think my only real option is to fit micro indicators – super small ones, that or revert to hand signals:rolleyes:

Something made of metal that won't melt?

:D

Well, I tried wrapping the indicator in NASA designed aluminium plating – aka tinfoil but that lasted about 10 seconds:blast

OOOOH................ it`s SO DIFFICULT...........:blast :blast :blast

Ensure the indicator isn`t inline with the efflux of the silencer...............:mmmm

I managed it okay on the LegoBike with the crazily angled modded CCM pipe.

Your turn. :augie

Well that’s easy for you to say ya bemulleted tosser but I can’t move anything – the exhaust is fixed and it points right at the indicator – the indicator is already shortened and that hasn’t fixed it:( Ebay micro indicators it is…….

I'm just gobsmacked that anyone would spend £35 on a bit of bent steel and a heavy duty jubilee clip like that :blast

No wonder we've got no engineering industry left in this country when people don't have the nouse about them to get a pair of tin snips and a baked bean can and do it themselves...or even nip round the back of any exhaust fitters and cut a six inch length off a discarded pipe:eek

£35 :blast

:nenau

Hey it took me 3 hours to fit an exhaust and a further 1.5 hours to change the valve covers. Fabricating a silencer extension would take me about 2 weeks – if I had the tools\materials. That thing looks perfect – where can I get one?
