LED lights...

I fitted one of these from the supplier mentioned above and it seems really good. Very bright and visible from the side. Has 27 LED's in all. I hunted around on Ebay and got a 2 pack for £10.00 delivered which is not a bad price from http://www.project-r.co.uk/bulbs_and_flashers.htm :thumb The bulb just replaces the standard stop and tail bulb. It's a type 1156 bulb I think for the 1150GSA / GS. There are replacement ones for the indicators but they do affect flash rate. Not looked into what's needed for these yet.

Just replaced the LED ones with the original stop / tail light as I had the fault light illuminated all the time. Also as mentioned by Tecno they only illuminate red so number plate light was also illegal :blast
You live and learn :augie

These are the poor mans model. Go for the one with the three red luxion leds on the front - trust me. :thumb, all for a quid more.

Any more information Snoopy, part number and where purchased from
I would like to make sure that LED replacement bulb will work correctly and legally on an 1150GSA before I buy any more.

Still maybe no white LED on these...or IBS compatibility?

My 'prototype' tail light and inserts survived the very cold, very wet, very slippery and pretty foggy early Saturday morning ride to Salisbury and then some off roading when I got there (100 odd miles). Performed better than my clutch and TKs anyway!!

Excellent brightness, white number plate illumination and no ABS/IBS alarms.

I will be making these in the New Year and post in vendors section. All those who have PM'ed me will get theirs first...:)

Made this one for my airhead...
Got the leds off ebay...Works a treat :thumb

Rear tail light / Brake light

Hi
Yes I am very interested in the tail/brake light have you got a price yet ?
Please add me to your list of people wanting one .
Merry christmas to all
:rob

Connections

It would be via spade/piggyback connector at the rear as I can't find the bulb casings to do it how NN does.

The LEDs for the tail lights (red or white) will be ready in 7-10 days and the tail light will be soon after that.

Thanks

It is a shame but I have tried some contacts in China but no joy.
It really isn't a problem with the spade connectors, it is just 2 more screws to undo.

There is still some time to source them though as I haven't started making the rear light modules yet.

The running/tail/fog indicator inserts will be ready in 7 - 10 days as I am waiting for bits. These obviously don't need the 'bulb' connector as they attach to the rear light via piggy back connectors.

Out of interest, how well do the indicators stand out over and above the front/rear running lights in this arrangement.

I am just concerned about proximity and sort of blanching out the indicators...

No problem at all. Same for the rear really.

The 25W orange filament bulb shines a treat. I will try to get a photo of them if my shutter finger is fast enough!

Incidentally, if you don't have clear lenses on the front/rear, you could get the white LED type to effectively shine orange (on the 'low' setting) and have running lights like our US neighbours.

Not sure if that is legal on a UK spec vehicle though.

I have a 1200GS and am looking to do the mod that someone else did on here - i.e using the NN read LED indicator inserts (with the additional Red Brake Light LED's, and changing the Red Led's to White. The aim is to then fit them in the front (with clear indicator lenses) and therefore have some additional 'marker' lights - they're not going to provide any real ilumination, but will help to 'be seen'.

I've now carried out the mod the NN (Moto-LED) rear inserts to change to Red LED's to White (I bought 22,000 mcd and 45,000 mcd LED's from FleaBay, and fitted the less bright ones (at least initially)).

Tested on the bench, but not fitted yet - hopefully they'll work a treat as marker lights with the clear front indicator lenses.

Delay in boards...

...sorry about this, but there is going to be a further delay of at least 10 days because of a cock up in the board fabrication.

The boards have been made 'mirrored' so are useless :blast. They are being re-made now but don't have an ETA at present. Not sure who is at fault as the design was fine when I checked it before sending it off. Still they are doing them again FOC so....:augie

Should have made them myself!:mad::mad:

Boards are ready

Got the boards, so looks like it is a go. I will sift through the PM and start making them. Just need to get some laquer to coat them in as my nail varnish is running out :)

I have decided that those that PM'd me prior to today and showed support for this little project will get them at a discounted price - I will let you know what that is by PM :)

Here are some pictures of the boards ready for components.

Because of the size of these, there is no reason they can't be adapted to fit any lens, just fit them with a glue gun or sticky pad to a suitable mounting made from plastic, and cascade them....voila LED tail/brake/fog lights for cars/bikes/trailers/etc...

Next - tail/brake for R11xxGS with switchable IBS.
