LED rear light panel

.........so what does the LED set-up work like with the standard lens?
....Too dark?
I'm not keen on the "clear lens" look but like the idea of LEDs for reliability and ...if I'm honest looks...

Absolutely fine with the standard red lens. Bright as a bright thing.

Nippy-Norm's "design" LED gubbins arrived next working day.
On removing normal bulb noted it was filthy - I believe there is a thread about cacked up rear lights somewhere...so quick spray of contact cleaner and literally 5 minutes and the unit was fitted.
No warning lights and a very noticeable tail/brake light.

brake light wiring!

Hi all, djack back ont the keyboard again,
I have a set of indicator led panels for the bike (1200gs) which also double as brake lights too (centre row of led's)I took a look at the indicators (clear lenses) and they seem simple enough to take apart and get at the wiring the bit that gets me nervous is getting at the main brake light wiring i.e how do you get at it to connect brake led's in the indicator panel.I know I am being soft but I am always work on the presumtion if there is a wrong way to do something I always find it .

Plasmatron, many thanks, was given a NN LED tail light for a Chrimbo prezzie from er indoors. I to had the light fault indicator issue, read your post and hey presto working perfectly!!!!

Thanks plasmatron for that tip. Had mine second hand for a year with the light fault (which cleared on applying the brake). Also thanks Tall Lad for bringing this thread to the top so I had a chance to read it. Woowoo. Fixed. Also found one of the mounting points for the lens had cracked off. Anyone had that?

Can a site admin/mod add the cure for the lamp warning with LED rear light clusters to the 'Font of all Knowledge' ??

So one assumes that the NN fake bulb is a resistor, any idea what size it is? The reason for asking is that it would be a 'simple' matter to insert an in-line resistor to the wiring for those who purchase other LED rear light assemblies without the fake bulb.

All sorted, a suitable resistor connected between the light feed and earth overcomes the problem, so watch this space for some cheap (er) LED rear lights coming up for sale!
