left hand indicator switch fault

Hi

I've tried fixing the left hand indicator switch and have so far failed. sometimes when you press it the l/h side incator comes on sometimes it doesnt. nearly broke my thumb on sunday trying to get it to work. the hazards work fine at the right rate. the right hand side indicator works when the switch is pressed. i have cleaned the contacts on the indicator bulbs front and back and the left hand indicator will work intermittently.

im wondering if the switch for it, if the contacts are shot or need cleaning. im fairly certain that if i open the left hand switch gear springs and other horrible little things will fly out and go all over the floor with the rest of the day looking for bits of plastic and springs. a 'replacement' switch unit is £40 and that is a second hand one!

my 1150 gs has done 58,000 miles so far.

has anyone been here before?

any ideas?

Water ingress to the little switch in there.

It's easy to disassemble and clean up, biggest problem is getting the bottom cover to sit right afterwards.

Fortunately there's a man in Kingston that knows how to sort that
