I find the BMW indicator setup fairly sh*te and want to do something about it. I want to swap over horn/left indicate and cancel/right indicate. It is really 'polishing the turd' but I'll see how I get on.

My question is, has anybody stripped down the switch clusters on the right / left bars on the 1200?? Is re-assembly easy??

I've got visions of me opening up the clusters and stuff springing out all over the place and me never getting them back together again.

If this is 'too difficult' to re-wire in the clusters I'll break into the wires just upstream of the ZFE control module.

Only the right one, as I wanted to rotate the switches up to make cancellation easier - which works but is limited by a plastic locator tab(cut it off)and the master cylinder push rod fouling the switch cover. Obviously the rod must have a slight clearance with brakes off, but I found that the limited rotation was sufficient for me to avoid blipping the throttle when cancelling the indicators. I did pullout the wiring, but not the switches, and had no problem on reassembly.

Cheers Terry, gives me a bit of confidence to start disassembly:)

Here's what it looks like inside:

I guess "all" you need to do is swap two of those wires around :)

Well that's the theory. I'm tempted to do it somewhere below the tank and solder on some bullet plug/sockets then I can easily switch them around to see which I like the best.

That said I did manage to find the horn in anger once today, which is the first time ever.
