My neighbour has just come around to my house, arm in a sling looking a bit jaded to say the least Apparently he got took out by a van whilst filtering traffic last night. He is with Bennetts ( fully comp ) but i said he needs some legal advise too.
Being that this is the place to get the answers to just about anything, anybody got the number or email address of a good solicitor that is bike savvy in the North Manchester Area?????

When I was rear-ended , my insurers appointed Bakers Personal Injury Solicitors, who are Hampshire based.

My advice to him , having just come to the end of a lengthy case, is find someone as close to Manchester as possible. Possibly try ringing the BMF legal help line they could put you in touch with a solicitor close to manchester.

A quick internet search may also pay dividends too.,

Why do I say close, cos its easier to see them in person and not over teh phone and see what they are doing.

I am using Pannone at the moment for an off caused by a u turning car that was in a 2 mile traffic jam, I was filtering in empty offside lane.

some case law saying if you fliter and the car pulls out into a turning eg side road or farmers field !!! its 50:50

and others saying other splits depend very much on your circs.

I think their is a recent stated case on RTA involving motorcycles filtering, and it was in the bikers favour I think there may be a thread somewhere on this forum.

get matey to write it all up now to build a timeline take pictures of the bike, road where it happened to show lighing conditions, bike gear to show refectiveness, bruises as they develop etc. Best do it while it's fresh and once you get in the legal mill they'll want all that anyway

I got a local firm on it my insurance sorted mine it took ages and I had to take time off work to go see'em, several times bloody nightmare.

keep all reciepts if he has to travel by other means cos he can't ride, get to the doctors get them to get it on record. again insurance wanted all that stuff cos I never went to doctor it made the claim even more complex in my case.
