I keep reading about these fitted to 11**'s and am intrigued, they sound a nice little mod.

Has anybody fitted them to a 1200 and if so what was the outcome?

Sounds like you'd like a little more ooomph

Have you tried the new Liquid Cooled GS :augie

I was very interested in the sprockets until I had it remapped :augie

Ha, ha - very good :P

I currently run a Wunderlich fuel controller set up for the open BOS system on my bike. I'm sure a remap would improve things further (as the Wunderlich unit is fairly crude) but maybe not such a big improvement over stock.

Also, with the sprockets, my understnding is that by altering the valve timing they physically move the peak torque lower by 1000(ish) revs. For every day riding that sounds great, plus the top end rush I get with the controller would still be there.

Maybe a remap and sprockets would be cool :)

I installed Lennies sprockets 1,5 years ago on my 05 12GS . Much better low end torque and the power comes much smoother now. No increase in fuel consumption. Recommended :thumb

Sprockets to boost the midrange and a remap to pull back the lost top end! That does sound like a plan :D

Outomunch,

The result is the same for all models in that it moves the torque peak lower in the rev range offering many benefits.

ebbo,

What happened when you remapped it?

Sprockets

Message for Lennie,Are these sprockets available for the twin cam ? if so i would be interested in trying them.

Regards

Steve,

The twin cam has no locating lug and the cam timing can be changed b ut you need the BMW cam timing tools and then adjust the cam timing with a timing wheel on the crank. The advance they use is only 6 degrees though.

I cannot remember where I saw the posts but it could be AdvRider so have a earch on the different boards.

It just runs that much better, 1st gear which previously had felt a little high now feels quite ok. It does still stumble a little below 30mph, but it a whole lot better than it was

Why wait for a reply when google "lennys sprockets" finds them in the 2nd link.

Does anyone know if standard sprockets can be modified or does it have to be the Lennys?

Bendy,

Someone tried to modify a stock set but you need a degree table and jig on a mill to do this. I think it is just cheaper to buy the sprockets for a bolt in mod.

It is actually Lennies not Lennys. :)
