I have a setup bought used from another Tosser , so I don't want to bother Les until I've got some idea what might be going.

It's been great but now the main beam has packed up working and gives a LampF warning.

I can't find anything obviously wrong so can anyone tell me if this is likely to be the ballast or the burner or electronics pack.

Its got a fast start pack on main beam and normal pack on dip beam.

Take all the plugs out an refit them mate....Ive had LAMPF 1 or 2 times and its been this. Les has said in the past the lamps and Ballasts are bomb proof very high quality

It's all on a Les Wassal bracket. :)

I've tied the lower (front) end to the Adv lights bar with zip ties and soft pads so it won't rattle.

Last night I took off the beak for better access. Just done the unplug & plug - and it's working fine with no LampF.
Thanks for tips it's saved me a shed load of time.

Les is VERY helpful. When I bought my 2nd GS, it already had a twin HID set up on it. I had the twin set up from my 1st GS, so sold the set off the new bike.
Les was so helpful, he even sent me a set of installation instructions and corrected my ad on here when I said they would fit the GSA, when they would only fit the GS.

+1 for Les. Brilliant service as well as brilliant product. If you've still got the beak off it might be worth checking the contact faces of the ballasts, mine had some corrosion, suspect electrolytic, at the contact with the stainless steel bracket. I fittd a thin plastic ship between the ballast and the mounting plate and used some fibre washers under the nuts.

My recent prob was a shitty conection on bulb plug I simply crimped it more, the amount of peeps that go on about buy new batt, new ballast etc when connections cost sweet FA to test, glad your sorted :)

Thanks for the tip about electrolytic corrosion. My (not OEM) hand guards have alloy brackets with stainless screws. Every screw head has a ring of white powder around it.
They get far more cleaning than Les's HID gubbins so I'll check out the HID mounting screws.

Les gets great reviews and my HID kit is great. Thanks everyone for pointing me to the likely problem without needing to bother Les.

Just spotted this, pm me who the kit was of and i can check up on it and help sort the problem.

Cheers

Bollox - is that all it was! Still, you got a brand new Odessey out of my incompetence :D

It took a while faffing about to track down what wires where at fault,I tracked it down to the actual headlight plug itself, must've been making partial contact randomly lol anyhow crimped it more alls well :)
