You think it looks bad...???
I had the privilege of hearing one of the bearings turning yesterday.....up there with nails being scraped across a blackboard....:eek:

FFS man, get Kenny to make that post invisible to Rob Farmer, he's fragile enough at the moment and that will push him over the edge!!!! :D

Lucky to find an Irish GS with oil in the gearbox :augie :D

At least it wasn't full of water, or maybe it was cider, like Proffs :comfort

What about this then ????

This is a box that came from Mssrs "Seven Rocks"! It wouldn;t change right and my mate tom said what do ya think

Doesn't take long to run up a queue of them. I rebuilt well over 60 before qoing into retirement.

Nice bit of shimming there :D

I did one a while back where somebody had rebuilt the box using the original shims, unfortunately they decided to use newspaper for the end cover gasket instead of buying a proper one. Amazing what a mess bearings make when they have too much preload

Hmm Time to resurrect this one

Forks sorted tonight last broken bolt drilled out New seals and Oil

Plan to move it into the Dining room (Ahem shush don;t tell Max) Build it up into a rolling chassis with wiring etc etc all in situ and get it all working

then out to Garage and fit the engine and box

Engine on the bench for disassembly

Gearbox in prep in parts washer

If it doesn;t get too mad for jobs to do (i.e. working late regulary)

target is assembled functional rolling chassis by first weekend in May :thumby:

OMG this thread is already 3.5 years old!!

Now go steady don't rush it.

Looking forward to see the progress... if I were you I would have forgotten where I stored all the bit...
