Kicked some butt last night and tonight and tore the engine down

Not bad and as you may see I can see why she was left Seems that half the clutch material has disappeared and she's honking oil out the back seal!

But they clean up well

Even tho she was abandoned 10 years ago all these bolts in the timing chest came off easy Thumbs up for BM

Bit of an oil leak tho New seal on order and not one of those crappy new membrane seals either!

Good news is no pitting or marks on the cam and no play in the mains and the valves and guides are in good shape

I may have to get the polisher out and do a bit of blueprinting and balance a few things while it's in bits

I wish I'd have checked the sump first! Now I have to take off the timing chain assembly that I just did

Scabby bean can is just there to keep dirt out Till I find Escargot's one
On a positive note the big ends are sparkly and not worn

Okay so I have removed the crank nose bearing and refitted the pin

Now I happen to have sitting on the Shelf a 336 cam ????

R100GS std motor plus a 336 Cam

What do the collective think ??

Hmm Well Escargot passed it's MOT this morning!

Been a minute But I did manage pretty well to stick by the original "ethic" nothing new if at all possible and fix and mend as much as possible

"but"

I would hate to count up man hours of cleaning and splitting and trying not to break anything (I did use new bearings and seals throughout in case Someone thinks I am that stupid !)

Very Much and "Oily Rag resto" @nicholsonj2252 I am afraid to give you nightmares You would be on a plane and taking it home to sort the cosmetics properly LOL

"But" beneath the surface It is good Maybe just a timing chain to complete the mechanics and the Wedgetail returned to AUS for repair !!!!
