Let down by Expansys

I have just discovered that I'm not mow getting my 2610 which was ordered nine days ago tomorrow as expected, instead it will be approximatley 10 more days.

Maybe they were inundated with orders, maybe they were let down by Garmin, or just maybe they were using this as a stunt to pull orders in from the likes of Sport Extreme and others who were doing attractice pricing.

Well fek 'em, I've just cancelled my order
:p1zzed: :anger: :p1zzed: :anger: :p1zzed: :anger:
I myself have just got off the phone to Exspanys and cancelled my ordered with them, the same thing happened to me, was told when I placed the order 10 days, 2nd phone was told 2 weeks, phone today and was told waiting for stock can't give a date, so I cancelled, any one where I can get one from at a good price.

Regards Joe

Do you not have to pay the £96.22 tax then? If not, how do you get away with it then?

I'm (or rather my company) is registered for VAT thanks ;)

I put in my valid VAT number and lo and behold the VAT is removed - and if they didn't then as a bona fide company purchase it would be returned to HMC&E as befalls me as VAT registered business :thumb

Had to order from Aspid

Well I could wait no longer for my SP2610 from Expansys, they noted on the system this morning they had units, but after speaking to their Complaints dept, it appears this was for the whole world, and they were for France.

The Warehouse system is also worldwide!!, so you can't really see if it's in the UK.

I have had to pay another £55.00 but iI should now get it Tomorrow or Thursday latest.

Shame really, but told this morning I wasn't second on the list as I have been told since day one, but No 5.

Who do you believe, a different story every time I called.

Gary.

:shoot: :shoot:

Well, I've just cancelled my order from Expansys after talking to them Tuesday as after checking my "expected" delivery date and finding out it is now Oct 29th (possibly!!!) - "but we have 20 coming in and you're 10th on the list"

Sorry, because after phone call to them last week (when it should have arrived) they said they were going to email customers about the delay - about a week sir - I'd still heard nothing, hence the check, to find out it will be at least 13 days, I'd had enough.

Hello Aspid - OK so it's going to cost me £40ish more, so I won't get the 1Gb CF card that I was going to. Still Xmas is coming and the kids never know what to get me - both problems solved :D :D :D

Mines in Manchester

Ordered mine from Aspid yesterday morning, spoke to them yesterday afternoon, very spooky, she knew who I was when I phoned (my number is barred), Paris 02 45, Manchester, 07.45.

Cancelled my order with Expansys this morning, they may supply £12M every year, but the different stories I was told in the end made me think that they were never going to be able to deliver these units at the cost they said,

Will report how I get on.

Garmin UK, very helpful as always.

Gary.

Gary,

You've made a wise choice to go with Aspid.

I bought my 2610 from them recently as was very impressed with their service. You will get a FedEx consignment number and you can track its progress to you. I ordered mine late on a Wednesday and it arrived first thing on the Friday morning.

This is how quick it was delivered:

BUGGER, they said it was going to be delivered on the 27th (Monday), so nobody was home. Picked it up myself that evening.

As long as it is showing in stock you should get similar service I guess.

Enjoy your new toy!!

Jon

DING-DONG!...

Went then doorbell at 9.30 this morning.

Mr FEDEX has a parcel for you.....

10.30 (yeah I know it should've been more like 9.31 but I was about to have a shower) and the box opened and the contents checked and I haven't got the dodgy mains adaptor that Bakes ended up with mine is perfect.

Well done Aspid :thumb

Add me to the let down by Expansys list. I've used them before for other stuff and they've been very good, but in this case they just hadn't got their act together.

I looked at ASPID who seemed very good but opted for MNC group instead as they are a UK company etc etc. and they're cheaper by the time you add exchange etc.

Also cancelled my order this morning with Expansys, I was told it would be in last Friday, now it's another 10days!!!

I've placed my order with GPSW today and it's already been depatched........It was £599.95.

Aspid

Brilliant service.

Bought one and arived when they said it would.

Downloaded maps off Interwebby thang for Mozambique and used when I did my honeymoon thingy. Spot on and no need for Garmin maps!

Only wish I remembered to take it out of the Landrover when I left!

Now have cretin card bill for 2610 but no longer a GPSR owner.

Dickhead am I!

Just had this from Expansys for those who are interested and hadn't fulfilled their order elsewhere...
