It's all a massive con. Marshall never made an "11" amp for Ted Nugent or whoever it was. They just changed the numbering on the nobs of the ones stacked up in the warehouse.

It was Spinal Tap, who, as I recall, also wanted a black that was blacker than black and, of course, the Stonhenge backdrop to their stage set (albeit that was probably a nod in the direction of Led Zep)....may their sun never set (or sweat, as the the boys themselves put it)
