LH indicator switch not working.

Anyone got any ideas? I think it's a mechanical problem. The plastic paddle part doesn't seem to be pressing the switch mechanism. Anyone else had this problem and know how fix it? Can they come adrift? Any input appreciated.

i think all bmw switches come apart & the parts obtainable separately. could be just the older stuff
