I dropped my bike yesterday onto the right hand side, it ran for maybe 10 seconds before I killed the engine and gave myself a hernia picking it back up again. It now runs like an absolute sack of sh*t (also struggled on tick over too), it's always run really well with the only problem being the dreaded surge up to 3000 rpm. Now it's awful up to 3500 rpm and then the whine on the left hand cylinder kicks in.... I noticed it on the way to work this morning and could hear it in 3rd & 4th gear. :(

I did have the fuel tank off yesterday to bleed my front brake (post drop) and I guess I need to check the fuel pipes again, but can this explain the new nasty noise?! Help! It's a 95' MY R1100GS with 60k miles.

Check your throttle cables as they enter the throttle bodies, could be misaligned

Please, please, it's my turn to post the pictures

your cable maybe like this -

when it should be like this -

I've just had a look at the cables and all are how they should be :(

Damaged TPS in the fall ?????

Nah TPS is on left..
I'd check spark plugs for oil damage, and do a compression check to rule out "hydraulic lock" damage...

for starters...

ooo, and rip the rocker covers off to check the camchains have not jumped the sprockets...

in fackt, check just about everything including the oil because fuel may have got into oil and vice versa...

LHS whining ( = left hand side ?? ) but bike fell on the right ?

Hence, thinking it was the TPS. Time for bed I think.

I get ya, I was tunnel vision'd on the fall. Was the LHS whine there before or after the fall?

Oh Leave off the bloke, we're having trouble with left's ands rights! :D :D

damo reaches for gloves with big L and R on them...

Well I do feel a :tosser now.......... The bike ran fine when I left work, also this morning it's as good as ever. Maybe I stired up some shite in the tank when I dropped it?! The noise on the left hand side turned out to be the end of the clutch lever touching the hand guard (1150 guards), revving at 3500 was enough to make it noticed. once again, worrying :tosser .

Thanks to all for your advice!

No problem. Prolly air in the FI or blue steam round anti-gurgling throbbilaor valve, maybe even the shusher valve corresponding at the wrong point in steam corlialating system :P :D
