For anyone interested in 'Operation Market' Garden and 'Operation Veritable' there is what I think is a comparatively new website set up in collaboration between the tourists boards in Arnhem and Nijmegen and the local military museums:

http://www.liberationroute.com

It has a map with over 90 separate locations relevant to the events of the autumn of 1944 and spring of 1945 all of which correspond with features at those locations which for the main part seem to be plaques with information and pictures about the location. The website also has free audio downloads which tell the stories of those locations.

If you're not into the computer thing you can buy a couple of small booklets for the princely sum of 4.5 euro at the tourist info.which will take you to the various spots.

Well worth a visit IMO as the 70th Anniversary approaches. We've just spent a couple of days in the area and managed to take in the airborne museum and the John Frost Bridge in a two night stopover in Arnhem. Impressed with the locals and their natural friendliness:thumb
