Lifting handle

Excellent!
The bike won't fall away from you as you'll have your weight on the stand's lever.
Show it who's the boss

Yea right ;) , tell that to my beached hexhead when i dropped it putting it on the centre stand after a trip away.

I left the f*cker down while i had a cup off coffee and contemplated.

When it showed signs of submission i picked it up again ;)

(my foot slipped of the stand lol )

Try using your left foot on the stand. Your weight is then to the right of the pivot point giving you more leverage, and makes it easier to reach the pillion hand rail with your right hand.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Trolly along to your local BMW dealership, they will 'Show and tell' you the easiest and most reliable way to do it. The mistake that most owners make is to try to pull the vehicle onto its stand, in essence fighting the vehicle's natural ability to effectively lever itself up and onto the stand. Once shown to you, you will be able to use the method (it is really not hard) to lift anything from your GS thro' to my 320 kg 1600, with no trouble at all...... and you won't need the extra weight, bling nor cost of the bolt-on lifting handle.

PS I now see you have cracked it, doing exactly what the bods at your local dealership would have shown you.

When away with the wife fully loaded for 2 weeks the handle is a god send after a hard day . Money well spent , okay the technic helps but the handle does as well and makes it easier , why struggle .

04:57 A perfick example of how to put a bike on the main stand

Exactly, even with full panniers and top box I can easily manage it and I'm only 5'8" and lightly built - apart from a bit of a beer gut!

Hi all.
So, i am having a right game getting the bike on the centre stand.:comfort
I have managed it but nearly bust a blood vessel doing so.

I have seen these handle things that bolt to the frame but they look round where the clamp is - wont the handle just spin when i go to lift the bike?

On another point, i know my low version has a different side stand but is the centre stand shorter ? Is that why it is hard to lift ?

Any suggestions appreciated.
If no luck then i need to book gym membership :)

I had one and it was great. Yes it's round and fits on the frame but is also fixed to the left hand rear foot-long mounting which stops it spinning.
