To save me working it out for myself :tosser can any of you give me the dimensions to make a light bar to mount a pair of hella ff spots & Hella microfog lights to my GS1150?

I.e. length of bar, angles, size of holes etc.

Thanks guys :D

Bar length = 480mm
Fastener holes centres = 275mm apart (or 230mm between centres if using oil cooler mountings)
This is from another site's instructions for a DIY light bar if its any help? Not sure of their lights though.

Yes, own up to being a tight old git, but as the place where I work has a fabrication shop, wouldn't you?

can you tell where I can get replacement Hella lenses (bulb unit) and micro fog lights. The spots were on my gs when on it when i bought it. One has been cracked by a stone. I do know where I can get a replacement. thanks email if you like at [email protected]. many thanks in advance.

I am going to mount the light bar on stand offs, to avoid it contacting the beak. I am going to use the two cap heads to hold it in place, this appears to be the norm, has anyone experienced problems with this? I believe that they are somehow connected to the oil cooler.

Don't forget that you cannot mount a straight bar across these mountings without getting a bar/fork interface moment when the bars are turned and forks are compressed. You need an offset in the bar to give clearance.

Anyone going to put a piccy here of how much of a "throw" I need to put in the profile for the light bar. PLEASE :bow :bounce1

An image taken from the underside looking up would be nice.

Currently the light bar is going to be 40mm wide, so this may avoid having to profile an offset?

Hit the search button & after much looking I have seen the light (groan). My bar is only going to be 40mm wide in 4mm s/s. Should be alright clear the forks on full lock when compressed. (unlikely scenario anyway) but will also file a radius in the possible offending area anyway.
