Do you want to take the BMW Lights/Horn switches off just because of the size? also do you just want main beam and not high beam on the new light switch?

We for me it's partly looks because it is used as a dirt bike and that's it. And I'm trying to get the bike as light as possible, yes the harness and switch do weight something all be it minimal. A simple hi/low switch would work for me.

yes i want to fit on/off flick light switch(dipped) in the blank on the dash and fit a KTM power switch in place of the BMW switch cluster

Sorry mate , but what do you mean by KTM Power switch?

it's basically an on/off switch (which can be mounted on the handle bars) for switching between low engine power to the higher engine power :)

Why dont you just fit a new swith by the speedo, a standard toggle switch will do, also as you may already know, this switch is only effective when the engine is not running. The bike will run in the selected power at start up. You will just need to cut the wire on the plug in module and then extend them to where you will be fitting the switch. I did this , then after a short while i left the bike on full power and done away with the switch. i was forever changing it to low power then full power.

I think I'll just put the BMW supplied plug in, and as you say leave it on full power all the time. thanks for your constructive comments Sammo.:):)

No probs, do you have many green lanes over there, do you do any enduros or just green lanes?

How old is old  as the 450 will soon get your riding fitness back.

Well i am 46 this year, did the D2D last year and entered the 'Wild and Woolly' on boxing Day (look it up on youtube) you are never too old to start, Enduros are great fun. Sure you would like entering one, have a go!!
