Can I ask which switch would be the best for wiring a pair of extra lights up to ?
Obviously needs to be waterproof (I do wash the bike now and then :D ) and durable and don't mind if it's handlebar mounted or for the dash.

Opinions ?

I use an autoswitch wired into the turn signal cancel button. Think mine is an AS7 (not compatible with HID), I think the latest one is an AS9 (which is HID compatible). They're easy enough to install. There were 2 versions, press and hold for 2 seconds or tap twice. They have an LED light to show on and off: red or green.

Not sure what bike you've got Davy and whether you want to switch the lights separately from your main beam?

I was happy to wire my LED spotlights into the main beam circuit (to compensate for the utterly useless standard high beam on the GSA1200 and yes I previously tried HID before anyone suggests that) so tapped into the main beam wire inside my headlight housing (i.e. a dry place) with a scotchlock, then ran the wire out of the back of the housing to a waterproof relay through a small hole I drilled in the back of the housing plugged with a grommet used for waterproof electrical connector blocks.

That way the OE waterproof light switch is controlling the spotlights.

Thanks for that. :thumb2 I've ordered this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261152209122?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648 which should do the job nicely. I ride a Versys and have also found out that there's an accessory plug behind one of the top panels, so I've be able to tap into that. These are the wee lights I've bought http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330806784451?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648 as I saw them on V4 TRV's scooter and they are pretty damn bright and quite dinky. :)
