Lightening and Lowering the GSA1200LC

Thought it might be worth starting this one up as a "new" thread (although it's mentioned in a few others in the ebb and flow of advice and comment).

So many posts appear to be focused on the options for either lightening the GSA1200 LC or for lowering it, or often both. Yes, we know that we can always lower our seats, or buy big-name lowered ones (e.g. TTech, Wunderlich), or that BMW factory-lowered-suspension GS/GSA models are now available for those with the financial budget to simply trade in and change, but what about all the other sensible technically-based options for us ageing bikers who don't want to have to change our bikes but want to sensibly adapt and change what we already have. There's a lot of clever people on this forum and with some very well thought out ideas for lightening and lowering and some really "good practices" based on riders own hard won experiences.

Who'll start us off ? What have you tried ? What's worked and what hasn't, and why ?

I got the low GSA more practical with plenty of boots on the ground.
But - I miss my 2014 tall one and tippy toe.
The suspension is plusher on the low.

You can change the springs on your shocks, Hypero I think.

OK... good thoughts.... what about changing out the exhaust system or removing the crashbars (some have done that).

Interesting that none of the big-name customisers have done anything as yet with the newer GSA. They usually set about with the hacksaws and welding kits a few years after the new model is out.

Someone suggested fitting a sidecar which was a novel and somewhat lateral idea.
