Lights dimming on high revs 650gs

Hi all,
I have a problem with my 650gs. The lights(all) and dash are flickering when I rev over 4k. I have checked the voltage on the headlamp socket, where the bulb sits, and it was going down to 6v above 4k revs. It was around 14v on the battery at the same time. I thought it might be the rectifier so I unplugged it to check the voltage without it. The same issue.
Has anyone had similar issues? Should i get a new rectifier?

Unlikely to be the reg/rec.

Huge voltage drop, so I'm thinking wiring around the steering head, or earth/neg connection somewhere. IIRC there are some relays under there too. It's a test & track & trace job with a decent multi-meter. Maybe try running a separate neg lead from the battery to the headlight/dash & see if that clears the problem.

Thanks. Will have a go. All lights are affected (front, rear, indicators and clocks) but that would be a good starting point.
