Hi all,

Got to within a mile of the office this morning before I noticed in the reflection of a van-door I was following that my headlight and spotlights were out.

The parking light was on.

My headlights are HIDs and the HID spotlights take their feed from them.

Checked the spotlight fuse and took out and reseated all the fuses in the fuse-box.

Turned on the bike and all working again.

Can anyone tell me which fuse is the one for the headlights? I have a workshop manual but doesn't say which one is the headlight fuse - or does it run off the 'instrument cluster'? :nenau

Otherwise anyone else experienced the same issue?

The dipped beam dosn't have a fuse, so don't waste your time looking for it. I would look at the feed to the HID from the dipped beam first.

Hmm.. but both headlight AND spots went out, not just the spots.

Anyhow, they're back working for now... weird.

I meant the original bike wiring to the dipped HID should be checked out. Sometimes these are connected with those horrible blue crimp connecters and they are crap, and always fail.

Ah! Cheers - I'll investigate!

I might have knocked something when re-fitting the tank cover yesterday

If there is one of those horrible blue crimps fitted you will find it somewhere by the rear of the headlights. IIRC it is a yellow wire for the 12V + to the dipped beam, that will have a wire grafted to it to feed the relay on the HID balast.

Happy hunting.
