Is it just I've been spoiled by the excellent headlamp on the bird or are the BMW lamps bad?
Riding in the dark for the first time the other day I realised that there was just no distance or spread on them.
If they are just that bad are there any reccomendations on supplimental lights and how easy are they to fix on?

the 'Search' button is your friend. Type in 'Lights', open a beer and settle down for an evening's reading.

No, it's not just you the lights are Crap with a capital C.
Make you wonder if BMW still think that there is a blackout in effect!!!!!!

Every twin headlighted BMW bike that I've seen has an unbelievably bad beam spread, compared to my single 1100 headlight.

If come the dark day that I have to move to a newer twin headlamp model, I think I'll quite seriously take my single lamp with me!

You might think the 1150's lights bad but the Yamaha Fazer's I had before the GS were an order of magnitude worse!

Its a bit of both , yes you have been spoiled by the birds lights they are excellent, one of the best on any bike and yes the GS lights are crap, BUT the solution is simple, buy a pair of Hella FF50 driving lights, about £36.00 and a suitable mount bracket, Migsel and others make these, do a search on the subject and you'll find him.

Yes,I knid of made that decision over the weekend. I've dropped him a mail to see if I can get hold of a mount and once I've got it I'll be adding a couple of projectors and a couple of fogs to her.
