Hello all,
Quick question my 2002 1150 GS has a lights on/off switch (dunno if newer models had the switch removed due to regulations).
I always riding with my lights on, just wanted to ask if it is ok leaving the switch to the on position even when firing the bike (I usually switch them off, but I was curious if they will start kneeling my battery every time I fire it).
I noticed once when I had them forgotten on the on position that they do cutout shortly (as to protect the battery).

It's ok to leave them in the 'ON' position as when you press the starter button the lights and heated grips etc. are disabled by a relay for as long as the starter button is depressed, so diverting all current to the starter motor and ignition etc. :thumb2

Thanks a lot mate!

Yep ...

... from about 2003 onwards the 1150 came without a light switch, probably as a result of some safety elf
