Hello,

Coming back from a TRF meet last night was the first time I had used the r80 in twilight/complete darkness .. I had forgotten just how dim 1980's bike lighting was :ROFLMAO:

So, before I go buying a bucket load of 'promises' has anyone deployed any bulb or headlight upgrades which throw significantly more light than the original glowing filament H4?

Cheers

Andy

And to save you trawling through catalogues, should you need its code #
Voila!1000014559.jpg
Fitted to Xcountry.
No worries about night riding now.
I could hardly believe my eyes when used for 1st time down black country lane.
Significant? Well, no, its not the word for what is a Massive increase from OE.
Lower power needs too
Win all round.

P.S
There isn't a huge differene wgen you switch to main beam. Maybe 20% more but the dip is way more than adequate to ride safely at night. Not the cheapest but 30,000 hrs is quite a lot!!

Many thanks for the details .. I was heartened to see 'motorcycle specific' bulbs :)

Now from Osram its also possible to get H4 Led in warm white which is made to be more in keeping with older vehicles, if you are keen to maintain the authentic look.

LED bulbs are now legal for bikes in the UK, so long as they don't dazzle oncoming traffic. They were banned until recently.
