Apart from a fancy silver/yellow paintjob - is there anything else which distinguishes the 1999 Granada-Dakar 1100GS from the standard model ?

I am hopefully going to see one of these.

Cheers

Didn't they make a red and white one a couple of years earlier as well? I t looked rather nice in red and white.

Is this it Andrew ? this was brought out in 1998 as the 75th anniversary model.

Have a look at http://www.micapeak.com/bmw/gs/gs_tel1.html#specifications - what a fantastic repository of all GS related matter !

Keith - I haven't seen one for sale, but a friend of a friend has one which "maybe" up for grabs.

I must say it's an absolute peach and I love the paint job.

We all know you've deliberately caused this 'confusion' to flatter Yosi's ego by referring to the bike you KNOW he's got

Well he kept that a bit quiet ! I'd better set my sights on something else now......

6x - thanks for the info because I never new it was called a Granada-Dakar. Maybe that is just a name for the Uk market. I have one in Belgium and from what I know it is just the paint that is different. I have compared it to other R1100GS's and it's just a cosmetic job - looks nice though. It turns heads in Germany - it seems they are quite rare so go for it - it's a great bike .

Heated Grips, Pannier rails, ABS all standard.
Colour Artic Silver over Dakar Yellow, 200 were produced of which 37 were officially imported into the UK.

The anniversary folder (certificate, photo album, key holder and pin) came with the 98 Red/White Anniversary model….. not this one.

Thats mine at the top of this thread & here she is before she was borne :D

Sloppy PDI process

Paul

Did you get the front wheel sorted out ? I think we should all know which dealer supplied the bike so we can all keep away. Did the dealer refer you to the importers

Not good - BMW are getting away with too much these days.

I asked them if I could have it as an Airfix Model (kit form) but not a chance, PDI build quality and all that... yeah right, the spotty youth spanner Monkey sliped with a spanner while putting the screen on and chipped the tank it was replaced under warantee Six weeks later.

Dealer...... 'they carpet the wood's'
Location....'the fire ***** jumped into the Fire engine'

limited edition 1100 gs - wot was it?

trivial, anorak question.........

did you get it from jefferies at shipley? (leeds stamped on the crate)

if you did what did you reckon to them?
