Following on from a recent thread regarding the excellent service offered by Linds...I just wanted to ask a few questions........

Although Linds are my (very) local dealer I have had very few dealings with them really, except for a couple of times, when to be honest, they have always been helpful.

I'm thinking of buying a new GSA soon, and have had a price from them, which compared with the other dealers I tried, so it is really only a choice of preference, rather than being finacially driven.

But....I've always dealt with Balderstones in Peterborough, and always found them very helpful and professional, and pulled out the stops on more than one occassion, and I really trust them...which is a hard thing to walk away from, and buying a bike somewhere else.

However I'm not saying that Linds aren't....and I feel that it seems silly to go all the way to Peterborough when there is a perfectly good dealer on my doorstep.

I also think it's good to do business locally, and to create a connection with the local dealer.

I just wondered what you guys thought?....have you been happy with their servicing?...impressed by their knowledge?...bowled over by their customer care?

I've got to say I haven't found a reason not to go down the Lind route....but just value you lots input.

Many thanks :thumb2

Steve.

I'm fussy about who I do business with - it doesn't take much to annoy me.

I really can't fault Lind at all, they have always been spot on.

Just do it.

Paul

I got my bike from balderstones, but hated the drag over there to get
it serviced. I was glad when linds opened, they service my bike now.

I have to say they've done well by us. Good handling of warranty issues, servicing and they did well by Madame with her ongoing ignition issues.

It's not as 'chummy' as places we've used before, but then it's the more corporate BMW style. Clinton in sales is a good chap and the upstairs guys do well. I do miss Phil though.

The only thing I wish is that the workshop wasn't so remote. I would like to be able to talk with the person who maintains my bike, but that's a personal thing.

I've not had any dealings with their workshop yet (but a service & MOT is due soon).

BUT... The sales staff seem good, even if the 2nd hand bikes seem too expensive.

The Parts staff are excellent.

But reading the above posts, they seem OK. I too am fussy about who works on my bikes.

I have to completely agree with Mr B......for a change...

Thanks chaps for all your replies.....it seems no -one has a bad word to say about them, which greatly puts my mind at rest.

As I'd said, I hadn't had any trouble with them in my limited dealings with them, but it's good to hear from people who have had more contact with them...thanks. :thumb2

It seems when I finally make my mind up (:augie) if the new 2010 is worth changing my 06 GSA for, then they will get my business...subject to the figures still being the same from when we spoke before.

....just got to make my mind up on whether to go for enduro box or not now! :blast

I was in Linds yesterday found them very helpfull and answered my wifes hundreds of questions about their clothing and helmets.

Plus thay have a free drinks machine and the Galaxy hot chocolate is worth the trip 8-)

im on my 3rd bike from them (well saturday will be 3rd) and all good and 40 miles nearer than the sh*thole that peterborough is (apologies to peterboroughonians).

I feel complete now as i have at last mastered the drinks machine without assistance:rolleyes:

I'm afraid I have to agree with everyone else! Not had that many dealings with them but they have always been very helpful and approachable. Got to agree about the hot chocolate too! :thumb2

Well bugger me where have you lot been hiding. Never knew there was so many of us Gs lads (tossers)here in Norfolk.( Suffolk Lads as well) As for Lind I have bought and sold with them and cannot fault them, yes they are a bit pricey, but are'nt they all. As for Balderston they went back on a deal,:( so stuff them no more business out of me. The workshop is a bit remote at Lind as someone said, but they did some work on my GSA and that was faultless. so you can only speak from experience. Maybe later we could all have a meet at Lind and empty their Coffee machine. See Ya Dave.:beerjug:

I don't come out to play in the winter! My bike gets too grubby! :hide

Someone pick a date and we'll raid the drinks machine :ChrisKelly

could only do the 10th, 17th or 24th this month.

unfortunately I won't be around for about six weeks.....

...but would be happy to do something after they've had a chance to refresh the hot chocolate machine after your initial visit! :thumb2

I know. Where are they when we have get together? Don't be shy chaps. Don't even have to ride in packs - just meet up at the destination if you fancy.
