We wish to share the important news that LIND Motorrad Welwyn Garden City is closing. The decision has been made in conjunction with BMW Motorrad to conclude our representation of the brand and therefore our site in South Mundells will close its doors in March 2026.

Just had the email update, another sad development, used them for mail order after the Norwich branch closed.

Hopefully those that work there can move to the new place as mentioned;

'There will be a new BMW Motorrad partner opening within the area soon, which will be announced separately.'

I've just received their email.

Closing March 2026, but "a new Motorrad partner is opening in the area soon"

Bugger!

:oops:

Lind appear to be in retreat with certain brands, but we all know that profitability is under threat pretty much everywhere, thanks to Rachel.

The current Lind representation by brand: -
  • Harley-Davidson: Guildford, Newmarket. (Watford closed in 2024)
  • Triumph: East London, London (Central), North London, West London.
  • BMW Motorrad: Welwyn Garden City (Lind Motorrad) closing 3/2026
  • Yamaha: Newmarket.
  • Ducati: North London (Watford).

I bought my GS from Lind back in August. I'm sad to see this news. I wish the staff every success in finding new work placements.

Sawbridgeworth in Hertford (they supplied my first BMW in 1997) became SBW and had to move to W-G-C, cost the owner a fortune I recon to upgrade to that showroom. Not long after they moved in they had so spend more money on the showroom to upgrade it to BMWs standards (that is how I remember it). I visited Lind today and was told the franchise has been given to a BMW dealership in Stevenage, which I rather think it will be the one on Gunnels Wood Road, that is part of the Sytner Group. Most of the staff have been found alternative employment, with just a few being out of work. If BMW want their Motorrad dealerships to be aligned with car dealerships will we see Sycamore Peterborough going the same way? David Hailwood (Mike Hailwood's son) worked at the Hertford showroom for a while, he had the desk on the right, as you walked through the door.
