Linking Nokia N900 to 2820

After many happy years of using a Nokia 6230i which uploads its contacts perfectly to the 2820, my new N900 fails to do this. It will still pair to the 2820, but will not upload the directory.
I can still use the "Call Home" function.

This might help someone make a decision.
 
N900?

I have a Blackberry 9000 at the moment but thinking about the N900. Heard good reports, what do you think of it?
